Senior Engineering Manager – Data Acquisition

At e.fundamentals everything we do is geared towards succeeding at speed and at scale.

Our revenue has grown by more than 300% in the last 12 months as world-leading companies such as PepsiCo, Mars, Kelloggs, HP, and Starbucks have adopted our Digital Shelf Analytics platform. Our platform turns billions of data points, for millions of products being sold online, into actionable insights that generate an average 10x ROI for our customers.

The Data Acquisition tribe’s mission is to gather, enrich and make useful the vast quantities of data that power every e.fundamentals product. The tribe has grown from one squad to four squads in the last 6 months.

As the Senior Engineering Manager you’ll lead in scaling the data acquisition platform to incorporate many new sources of retail data and ensure that we gather and publish that data at a massive scale, with high quality and high reliability. To do this you’ll have to create an engineering culture of excellence that allows every squad, and every squad member, to grow and deliver to their full potential.

  • Shape and grow a high-performance tribe that can deliver the roadmap at pace
  • Ensure the tribe chooses and continuously evolves, the right engineering solutions to provide for massive scalability, quality, and resilience
  • Ensure that the data acquisition platform runs perfectly: your tribe builds it and your tribe runs it

Our Tech Stack

  • Neo4J, ElasticSearch, and MySQL are our primary databases
  • We use Google BigQuery for our Data Warehouse
  • We use Looker for BI Visualisations
  • The e.fundamentals service is built with React and NodeJS

  • A track record as a software engineer delivering complex technical products at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems and to layout your proposed solutions in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative
  • Proven ability to engage with colleagues, company leaders, and customers in constructive and collaborative relationships
  • A deep understanding of agile software development and continuous improvement/delivery

You might still be growing your skills in:

  • Managing multiple squads
  • Managing geographically dispersed squads. We have engineers based in the UK, Spain and Vietnam
  • IT Service Management, particularly service availability and incident management
  • Cloud technology, especially Google Cloud Platform
